Kevin Whilden is the Director of Market Strategy for Climos. He
brings 8 years of multi-disciplinary experience working in the field of
climate change and related fields. His role with Climos is to develop
the sales and marketing strategy for Climos to be competitive in both
the regulatory and voluntary markets for greenhouse
gas offsets.
Prior to joining Climos, Kevin spent two years as an Analyst for the
Energy Trust of Oregon, one of the nations leading energy efficiency
development non-profits. His responsibilities included developing
shortterm and long range strategies for investment in energy efficiency
and renewable projects for portfolios totaling $35 million annually. He
also developed strategy for integrating the existing energy efficiency
and renewable energy markets with developing greenhouse gas markets.
These three markets are likely to become tightly integrated as the
mostcost-effective solution to a nationwide convergence on a
carbon-neutraleconomy.
Kevin also assisted the Energy Trust in the development of Market
Transformation strategy, which is a coordinated approach by the energy
efficiency professional community to cause rapid and low cost shifts in
the behavior of consumers and markets to be inherently more efficient
in the consumption of energy. Market Transformation is a proven method
to overcome market barriers. Click here for more details.
Prior to joining the Energy Trust, Kevin worked as a consultant in
the development of greenhouse gas markets as an employee of Trexler and
Associates for two years, where he specialized in complex modeling of
supply and demand of GHG credits in an emerging regulatory environment.
Kevin has an MS in Geology from the University of Washington where
his research studied the impact of climate change on permafrost in
Antarctica, and a BS in Physics from the University of California at
San Diego where he studied complex systems theory and geophysics.
